This antique Persian Sultanabad relies heavily on exquisite details, as well as an intricate and large scale boteh pattern. A fine trellis of beautifully colored large and small flowers sprawls across the green and gray field, pulsating with alternating rhythms in contrasting ivory, rusty red, acid green, dark gray/charcoal, light blue, yellow and cream. A crisply drawn arabesque and the detail of palmettes, flowers and serrated leaves imbue the rug with a beautiful articulation of pattern.
