This spectacular antique finely woven distressed Persian Khorasan from early 20th century Iran bears a magnificent splendor indicative of royal tastes, which sought perfection in balance and palette. The intricate geometric medallions display various floral motifs and are complemented by stretched palmettes. The field hosts a swirling garden of vining flowers. The inner and outer guards contain a running pattern of flowers, while the inner border displays a variety of alternating palmettes and swept leaves. The variegated light green and pale blue field is host to a cheerful array of soft colors.
