This beautiful Khotan rug, from early 20th century Turkestan features layered medallions in geometric and diamond shapes. The field and design is decorated with ornate floral motifs, accented with rustic shades of dark olive and brick red. The field is rendered in matte shades of cream, fleshy pinks, and browns with hues of red. The wide banded border has several inner and outer guards, rendered in brick red and soft browns, with stylized tribal designs and floral motifs.
