Very Large Antique Persian Bidjar Rug in Multi Shades of Blue, Tera-cotta & Red.
Classic Bidjar in Tera-cotta and variety of beautiful red tones, framed by variegated shades of blue colors in the border with large Scale Geometrics. Bidjar antique rug from Persia in medallion design, rug V21-0106, country of origin / type: Iran / Bidjar, circa 1880.
This magnificent and very large antique Persian Bidjar with an exquisite, all-over Herati pattern in the filed, rests beautifully on Tera-cotta and variety of beautiful red tones. A large diamond shaped medallion in blue tones take center stage in beautiful blue tones, complimentary of the border with a smaller ivory diamond in the center of it. The four cornices display the same Herati pattern in a midnight blue. The intricate border features ornamental, repeating flowers and vines that imbue the piece with decadence. The complexity of the rug's pattern and flawless structure becomes increasingly apparent the longer one studies it, as well as its classic and timeless design and colors.
