This magnificent antique Persian Serapi carpet from the late 19th century (circa 1890) bears an exquisite design rendered in gorgeous, warm hues of red and various shades of blue. A highly stylized, multi-layered, floral center medallion anchors the rug and is surrounded by numerous geometric patterns and floral motifs. A complementary border of complex, entwined patterns frames the entire piece. Colors include red-orange, blue, salmon, pink, cream, and light coral.
