Brilliant Kazak rugs are among the most desirable Caucasian rugs. The vibrant reds, blues, and ivories that decorate this beautiful antique Kazak carpet (circa Late 19th century) are all representative of early Caucasian weaving. Its tribal geometric design is in line with the finest of Caucasians, while the composition is characterized by a series of various shapes, with three layered medallions resting in the center of the field. The piece is replete with traditionally Caucasian design elements, and tribal motifs appear throughout the carpet.
