Multicolored antique Persian Malayer long and wide gallery runner with geometric medallion and motifs, rug ema-7582, country of origin / type: Iran / Malayer, circa 1910.
This lovely antique Persian Malayer runner originates from the northwest region of Iran around the turn of the 20th century. It bears a beautiful, traditional color palette and all-over Sub-geometric design. Repeating patterns of palmette-filled medallions with saw tooth borders span the entire length of the runner while a variety of decorative elements fill the surrounding field. A multi-tiered border encircles the rug, woven with numerous motifs traveling in an attractive repeating pattern. Colors include red, green, onyx, blue, gold, ivory, and orange.
