This amazing antique Malayer rug from the early 20th century, circa 1910, Iran was handwoven and bears a remarkably unique all-over sub-geometric floral design rendered in blue background, ivory border. The entire body of the rug is filled with Chartreuse green, light blue, ivory, red, yellow, and brown highlights. Vining blossoms extend from the center of the variegated blue field outward toward the complementary main and guard borders. The combination of its early period creation and its one-of-a-kind design and coloration makes this a rare find and a desirable piece.
