A rare 3rd quarter 19th century antique Persian Bakshaish rug with Medallion design, rug 17-0301, country of origin / type: Iran / Bakshaish, circa 1870.
This spectacular antique Persian Bakshaish carpet displays a diamond shape central medallion flanked by smaller tribal elements in the light gold center. The variegated blue medallion is surrounded by an spectacular center field which is bounded by four beautiful blue cornices of small tribal figures. Complementary geometric borders of charcoal and multi colors frame the entirety of the piece. Colors include Light gold, yellow, salmon, Brick red, light blue, light green, cream, brown, and charcoal.
