Some of the finest European tapestries and carpets have been woven in Aubusson in central France since the 17th century. This piece dates to the late 19th century, but it was woven in the neoclassical style of the early 19th Century. Garlands of roses are featured in the central medallion as well as within the corner-pieces. A soft and pleasant palette combines rose, green and ivory tones with an exceptional sea-green color and accents of gold.
