Serapi rugs are known as the finest rugs produced in the Heriz region and its surrounding area. This amazing Serapi is in excellent condition and displays a central ivory field. The four corners are decorated with a beautiful brick red, while the border pairs with the central medallion in soft pink and blush. Undulating brick color corner pieces are filled with elaborate arabesque detail and a complex 'turtle' vine-scroll border is set against an uncommon pale, blush pink ground, providing an elegant yet dramatic frame. Minor vine-scroll borders echo the field. Perhaps the most extraordinary quality of this antique Serapi is its square size and it's excellent condition.
