This large and impressive antique Turkish Oushak exhibits a delicate sophistication in color and design. The exquisite color palette consists of yellow, silver, wheat and soft ivory, with a blend of brown highlights. A stretched diamond-shaped medallion is composed of various floral motifs and rests in a soft, open field of wheat. Two joined, saw-tooth cornices, containing small floral, cross, arrow and diamond motifs, stand at either end of the field. Four diminutive bands form the inner and outer guards, which encase the main border of alternating sub geometric and floral motifs.
