This spectacular Persian Tabriz bears a magnificent splendor indicative of royal tastes, which sought perfection in balance and palette. The circular, script-style medallion displays various floral motifs and is complemented by two stretched palmettes at either end. The camel-colored field hosts a swirling garden of veining flowers and is held in place by flattering nude cornices. The inner and outer guards contain a running pattern of flowers, while the inner border displays a variety of alternating palmettes and swept leaves.
