Antique English Needlepoint from the late-18th Century with Beautiful Flowers.

Measures: 5'10 x 6'1.

This striking, antique English needlepoint was beautifully crafted during the late 18th Century and remains in remarkably good condition. It is composed of nine decorative swept cartouches, each containing floral bouquets with pink roses at their center, set upon a field of blue. Highly decorative, Fleur-de-lis-inspired motifs rest between each cartouche in colors of red, white and blue. A finished, simple gold and blue border surrounds the entire body of the tapestry. This splendid piece maintains a delightfully romantic air while establishing a strong sense of poised, elemental design.
