Antique Indian Amritsar rug with solid field of creamy yellow and ornate lavender and red border, Keivan Woven Arts / rug G-0206, country of origin / type: India / Amritsar, circa 1910
This carpet was woven in Amritsar in the early 20th century and is the proud heir to the great tradition of Mughal court carpets produced there two centuries earlier. The solid cream yellow colored ground is surrounded by a richly intoxicating border of sub-geometric designs in robust lavender, red and ivory and light blue gray hues.
