This late 19th Century Serapi carpet displays an unusually light color palette and geometric design. A large multifaceted medallion of muted grays, taupes, blues and ivory rests upon a field in various shades of soft red and terra cotta. The field is further filled with spandrels and branching geometric patterns in shades of blues, grays, and ivory. The rust and light brown border contains a repeating geometric pattern of blues and ivories to harmoniously complete the composition of this beautifully muted antique rug.
